It’s all over! Well, it has been for a week and a half now, but I’m just starting to figure out life without COLAB. Since I last posted while I was at Babcock & Jenkins, I guess this post needs to do a little updating as well.
After BNJ I crossed the bridge to the Couv, where I spent 8 days at AHA! (Alling Henning Associates). In keeping with the trend, AHA! was completely different than Anvil & BNJ, but the beautiful office space and wonderful people matched my previous agency experiences perfectly. I had a ton of fun at AHA! working with Cameron and Melina of the marketing team. I did some internal stuff for the agency which celebrated their recent growth and many accomplishments—which helped me to understand just how awesome that place was. BetweenBetsy Henning’s loud and hilarious laugh, which can be heard throughout the office several times a day, to the office’s inspiring recycling/sustainability focus, to the YUMMY office “Salad Days…” I really hearted AHA!
A beautiful Knack print ad
So now, to the final days of prep and the big presentation! Basically, Knack worked our asses off. I spent so many hours and so much money at Starbucks with my teammates in the final weeks of COLAB, and in the end, it all paid off. Kathy from Tillamook ended up choosing our campaign, Delicious Local Love, which felt so great after so much hard work.KNACK ATTACK!
I don’t even know what to say about my team—I’m obsessed. Between Ken, with his perfectly timed/weird/hilarious Basecamp jokes; Nicole, who busted out all of those adorable illustrations in about three and a half minutes; Carrie, who wrote her ass off and showed during our presentation that she may have a future as the world’s most successful telemarketer; and Andrew, with his markers and ability to motivate and focus us all… we all made each other better people and better COLAB Lab Rats. Also, we all made each other laugh. A lot. Which helped.
So, now it’s over, and we’ve all been set free to apply what we’ve learned (and lug around our 11x17 campaign book, showing all of our friends and family “what we did this summer”). Basecamp is no longer on my Safari “Top Sites,” I don’t frequent the PSU dorms anymore and my #COLABpdx Tweetdeck column is lonely… but Alanna, Alec, Andrew, Carrie, David, Ken, Megs, Nicole, Sam… I LOVE YOU!
