So today is sadly my last day at Emerge Interactive. During my time here I had an opportunity to research triathlons and charities.  From that research I got a chance to build a site map completely from what I learned from my research. After that phase I was able to make a wireframe for the copywriter and designer to reference when continuing to build the website. I also was able to create a social media strategy. From that I personally learned that breaking down things into steps and easy to read material is important for client understanding. Within the social media strategy I also learned a few new things myself  about social media. Such as Bitly and Hootsuite. Bitly  shortens URL’s its used in social media when characters are restricted such as Tweets. Hootsuite is used to manage social media sites and funnel them into one website.

When I completed the site map, wireframe, and  social media strategy I was lead man when presenting this material to the client. The client meeting went over really well and the help I received from Dan, Sunyi and Julian was awesome. After discussing some slight changes to the site map I was able to move on to searching for keywords to be noted within the website this would be important that the copywriter use to get the best results when people search for umbrella topics. This help yield better search results.  I also had an opportunity to see things beyond my personal project I was assigned. This included sitting in on client meetings and kick offs for new clients. I thought this was vital for me to see how clients and businesses interact. Also how to fit the needs of both the business and client into one compact plan. I especially enjoyed sitting in on kick offs watching the Big Dogs deliver their pitch to a client. It was interesting to see what elements they used and how to get the clients to be engaged in the conversation.

Overall my time here was amazing. I couldn’t ask for a more helpful knowledgeable group of people to work for. I hope the other interns who come here treasure their time at Emerge Interactive because I know I will.
