So after two wonderful weeks at Grady Britton it was finally time I move on to my second agency, Anvil Media Inc. I started off my first day at Anvil like a spent most of my time at GB, doing research. But I’m ok with that because in my opinion I’m becoming a fantastic researcher. Anvil is a very cool place that is basically just one big room where everyone works in desk pods. It’s very hip and cool with the loudest air conditioning fan I’ve ever heard.
We had a welcome brown bag lunch (that didn’t involve any brown bags oddly enough) and everyone gave me a piece of advice about what to expect coming out of college. I think my favorite piece of advice was to not major in art history (which I have already successfully avoided) which was later changed to “Be prepared to find yourself doing something totally different than your major. What you like to study isn’t necessarily the same as what you like to do.” I think both pieces of advice are great.
All in all it was a great day and I’m excited for the next two weeks. The thing I’m most excited for is meeting the founder of Anvil who is a Western Washington University Alumn.
